Swedish girl goes American, goes Swedish, goes American - but ends up Swedish.

Today I had to develop some photos for the handyman who hopefully is going to build my new kitchen and bathroom. I remembered that there is a shop where you can upload photos online and pick them up, and since I was in a hurry I called the shop to ask how long it would take. The man who answered the phone was American. He spoke Swedish  - very well - but had a non-mistakable American accent. It made me feel a little at home. But it was very hard not to answer him in English - after all his Swedish was impeccable, and to then start speaking English would have been very rude! But oh, so tempting!
Then I was thinking I should say something (Hello, I am also half American!!), but I did not. I hung up, and went on with my day. But kept thinking about the fact that I had spoken to someone American living in my hometown. I thought that I should ask him where he was from and chitchat the American way later on when I would go to pick up my photos.
After my workout (tried a Swedish cycling class, was medium impressed) I took my bike downtown to pick up the photos. So of course I heard the cute American accent again on a short American man. I asked 1 million questions about different photo frames, ended up buying four, but not a single American word. I ended up Swedish!
